how to reduce the amount of people getting seriously injured or dying in car crashes

This is the licence status of people in crashes in New Zealand

Isn't it weird that people with full licences are getting into more crashes than all the other ones?

How I did it

1: read all the information

2: extracted all the information i needed

3: made a google doc that looks almost exactly the same

4: struggled getting it on my blog

5: did all the finishing touches I needed

Percentages of crashes with licence status

How to reduce it

unknown or other: 4%

Never licenced: 9%

Learner: 13%

Restricted: 16%

Full: 49%

  • Keep your distance, drive far enough behind the car in front of you so you can stop safely

  • Drive strategically. Avoid situations that will make you use your brakes suddenly

  • Don’t get distracted.

  • Don’t drive when drowsy or under the influence.

  1. Very informative and well set out post. I really like that it invites discussion, like ways drivers can be distracted or what a safe following distance is. A good addition could be where you found the statistics so that people can see that it was from a reliable source.

  2. Kia ora Alice - well done on presenting such an informative Blog post. Great perseverance with successfully publishing this onto your Blog. I really liked how you included a pie chart to illustrate the statistics. Goodness, such a lot of people that hold full licences - I did not know this. I wonder why this is? A great addition to your post of suggestions to reduce the number of nasty car crashes. Some really good ideas Alice. Take care. Jen TA (Ahwi below)
